LEAD Training Classes
Anyone making repairs to pre-1978 housing must be certified. Property management companies and owners who perform renovations or repairs including painting or window replacement on rental housing built before 1978 must be certified and follow the lead-safe work practices required by EPA’s Renovation, Repair and Remodeling rule. These rules impact all individuals who conduct renovations or repairs including painting or window replacements for any housing constructed prior to 1978. Property management companies and owners performing renovations or repairs on pre-1978 housing are required to become a Certified Renovation Firm to be in compliance with federal law. The course addresses health concerns, regulations, before, during and after work procedures, recordkeeping and training to non-certified workers. The class will be conducted in accordance with the EPA accredited model course in a matter that each student is able to understand with little or no knowledge of lead-based paint. Contractors caught not following the new guidelines can face serious fines of $37,500 per day, per violation.
Classes are limited to the first 20 registered students so register EARLY!
